A special event to unveil the first-ever inscription stone for the student, artist and backpacker Inga Maria Hauser who was tragically murdered on the night of her arrival in Northern Ireland on April 6th 1988 and which to this day remains the only case of it's kind. April 6th 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of her murder which is still unsolved.

The event took place at the entrance to Ballypatrick Forest Park at 1pm on Friday April 6th and was hosted by John Dallat MLA and Keeley Moss, both of whom have long campaigned for justice for Inga Maria. The event will also featured words and music, which reflects Inga Maria's love of music and artistic nature.

Rotate A Novel

The dog ran on the pebble beach, parallel with the costal path. Its owner braced himself against the bitter wind that hit him as he rounded the headland.  As he looked up at the Lighthouse a propeller plane droned into earshot and lined itself up on approach to the city airport.  Step by step Aaron descended the steps from the top of the headland, keeping a brisk pace he nearly jogged straight into the dog walker.  Collecting the papers he collapsed into couch with a coffee and a donut contemplating how his last week at work would pan out.  Saturday night had been a heavy session with alcohol.

A soft glow graced the screen of the mobile phone on the bedside cabinet.  “It’s 7 o’clock, its 7 o’clock, time to get up, time to get up, it’s 7 o’clock”. Monday was a much brighter and warm day. Aaron shoved the veranda door to get it to slide open and walked onto the Balcony to behold a beautiful behind adjacent tending to her flowers.  Farrah Fawcettesque, his neighbour stood upright standing only in her knickers and bra and smiled as she caught sight of his pyjamas.  Lovely morning isn’t it he quipped as he tried to make light his predicament – morning glory and all!

After a quick shit, shower and a shave Aaron was on the road, the V8 purring as it passed the filling stations and fast food outlets on the out skirts of town.  This week would go fast as he simply had to wrap things up at the Pantalon Aircraft Corporation before emigrating to take up his new teaching post on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.  It would be a world away from here, not only a new job in a new country but a new wife to boot beckoned.  Within five minutes the red sports car was bumper to bumper in the traffic sandwiched between a Chrysler 300C and an imported Audi A4.

The CIA surveillance officer in the car in front casually talked to his superiors on the other end of his Bluetooth headset.  The voice on the other end barked. “So your telling me Frazer that the only Chinese this guy met was the one who served him on Saturday at the take way. How did he pay?”; “Swipe card sir, but his mates paid cash next door for Kebabs”; “I saw that Frazer in your report, but there is nothing telling me this guy is selling secrets to the Chinese, well who the hell is then!”. The Chinese take away people had checked out Hong Kong Chinese former British Army Cooks, the Muslims in the Kebab house even more unlikely candidates, Loyalist Paramilitaries.

Behind the occupants of the Audi A4 where also deep in conversation . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

As Aaron’s distinctive car swept in to the secure car park at the Pantalon Aircraft Corporation the Security Post men knew whom it was and they would be sorry to see him go.
